In Languedoc, the caresses of the wind and the rays of the sun give rise to an arid soil, with steep slopes offering scrubland of authentic richness.
Coming from a very strict quality selection with healthy and environmentally friendly treatments, the organic rosé wine of Languedoc can legitimately boast of perfectly expressing its terroir. With an organic rosé wine, the development of the grape itself is as important as the work carried out by the hand of man in the cellar.
In fact, organic rosé wine is subject to specific regulations regarding additives and technical production constraints for a lesser impact on health.
And yet, from the first sip, an organic rosé wine from Languedoc remains of great organoleptic richness for the greatest pleasure of the taste buds of discerning wine lovers.
A plot of AB certified vines is a guarantee that its cultivation is in line with the plant and its terroir.
Synthetic chemicals are herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. These synthetic chemical pesticides are substances such as glyphosate or neonicotinoids. Pesticides cause air, water and soil pollution, causing overall contamination of the environment and destroying microflora and fauna. Organic rosé wine is therefore produced without any synthetic treatment being spread on the vines.
Moreover, our AOP Languedoc Source of Joy rosé is produced using organic farming methods, using a complex network of underground waters ensuring a pure water resource.
The production of organic rosé wine preserves the intrinsic components revealing the terroir in the Pays d'Oc of terraces of rolled pebbles, sandstones and marls, limestones and schists as well as clayey soils, puddingstones and even basalts.
This is particularly the case for our Château La Villa Sauvageonne located at the gateway to the Causse du Larzac at an altitude of 300 metres. Thus, the organic rosé wine produced on this Languedoc terroir with a volcanic past preserves the environment, while restoring the specificity of this climate and this soil.
In spring, work the soil as late as possible so that the microbial fauna and flora can develop. And consequently, encourage the reproduction of so-called auxiliary insects such as ladybugs, butterflies, bees and hoverflies participating in a pollinating action of the local flora. It should be noted that bees are particularly sensitive to insecticides. Fortunately, in organic farming, we do not use the neonicotinoid molecule, which is toxic to bees, and thus preserve biodiversity.
Moreover, our organic rosé wine Or et Azur is a Bee Friendly wine. That is to say, it is made with grapes without products harmful to pollinating insects.
Several winemaking techniques are prohibited for organic rosé wine. It is necessary to master a complex know-how that avoids oxidation and guarantees the structure of the wine. Certain practices such as the partial concentration of wines cold for enrichment, electrodialysis and ultrafiltration are not authorized. As a result, an organic rosé wine is produced by being closer to the aromatic expression of its terroir, while preserving the authenticity of each of the grape varieties. Thus, Grenache Gris and Noir, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah are selected so that our organic rosé wines respect the imprint of the terroir.
How to choose our organic Change 100% Grenache rosé wine and support the commitment of our philosophy of producing a wine that is attentive to biodiversity through vinification that respects the aromatic expression of Grenache.
In addition to being grown without pesticides and preserving the environment, organic rosé wine reduces the intake of chemicals through ingestion. The inputs in organic wine are highly controlled, thus reassuring wine consumers. In addition, to inform people allergic to sulfites, European regulations require that the addition of sulfites be reported, when it is present at a level of 10 mg/liter. Especially since according to the WHO, consuming too many sulfites is bad for your health.
Therefore, what is ideal for people allergic to sulfites is to consume wine without added sulfites, like our organicPrima nature Grenache du pays d'Oc rosé wine, certified vegan. And also, for unconditional Syrah lovers, this typical Côtes du Rhône grape variety, in the Prima nature Syrah version.
An organic rosé wine simply expresses the potential of the grape in its color, aromas and flavors. It is a shame to limit its tasting only to the summer aperitif, among friends. In reality, an organic rosé wine is a sincere wine that authentically preserves the imprint of its terroir and its grape varieties. It asserts a real personality through its delicate flavors and aromatic finesse. However, influenced by the hand of the man who shapes it, its taste balance is unique. With us, Gérard Bertrand's organic rosé wines are invited to all tables. And they lend themselves to all moments of tasting, to draw in your glass the history of our Languedoc terroir.
This is also the case for our organic Gris Blanc rosé, served at a temperature between 10 and 12°C, with a very pale pink color, flavored with small red fruits offering a refined and sparkling mouthfeel delivering freshness and subtle flavors.
