Genora pays homage to the first orange wines , studied and created 4,500 years ago in Georgia. Through this sensational vintage, Gérard Bertrand displays a radiant wine. Its orange color gives the vintage solar reflections during the day, comparable to golden tiles. Genora is an original organic wine dating back to the origins of the first wines that carries its innovative character in its color.
Winemaking & Aging
Genora is the result of an ancient and traditional winemaking technique . First, the white grapes are vinified and then fermented in whole bunches, like red wines. This particular fermentation, and the joint fermentation of the stalks and skins, gives it its unique color, remarkable with golden highlights and a very unique tannicity. Genora is composed of exceptional grape varieties, mainly Mediterranean: Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc bring volume; Muscat, Roussanne complete the aromatic complexity of the wine. The choice of grape varieties and the control of the winemaking make it an orange wine of remarkable finesse and subtlety.
Tasting Notes
The nose is complex, with an explosion of aromas of white flowers , candied fruits and white pepper . On the palate, we find a freshness , certain of very gourmet aromas, with just the right notes. Soft and tasty, its texture absorbs the palate. Finally, Genora offers a beautiful length that continues the taste journey and a fine bitter point that awakens the taste buds.
Food & Wine Pairing
Génora will pair perfectly with appetizers, cheese boards but also with Indian and Asian cuisine. The wine is tasted at 12°C to appreciate all its freshness and minerality. Its complexity and the richness of its palate will be appreciated at 14°C .
