Solar 6, Bio and Beefriendly wines are winners of the LSA Organic Growth Trophies

Solar6 wines reflect Gérard Bertrand's commitment to the Cévennes PGI winegrowers committed to protecting biodiversity and pollinators.

Solar6 wines come from the Cévennes terroirs. They are available in white (Chardonnay), rosé (Grenache) and red (Syrah) and are available nationally and in Europe in general and specialist distribution.

These wines are the result of a collective approach initiated by Gérard Bertrand and Cévennes winegrowers committed to biodiversity and sustainable viticulture that respects pollinating insects.

In addition to organic viticulture, partner winegrowers seek to have a positive impact on their environment. In compliance with the BeeFriendly label, they adopt good practices:

- They sow the rows of vines with honey-producing plants - They plant trees around them to welcome birds and bats and prevent soil erosion

- They do not use any toxic products - They are doubly labeled AB and BeeFriendly The collective sees bigger and has formed the Economic and Environmental Interest Group Bees, Trees Rivers of the Cévennes in Vineyard (GIEE AARC in Vineyard) to transform the Cévennes territory into the Valley of Bees.

- An approach initiated by Gérard Bertrand in collaboration with 4 cooperative cellars in the Cévennes: the Cave de Durfort, the Vignerons de la Porte des Cévennes, the Cave de Saint Maurice and the Vignerons de Souvignargues.

- Today, around fifty winegrowers are already involved in the project (i.e. 800 hectares)

- Concrete actions: deep soil work, agroforestry, water management in the vineyards, preservation of pollinating insects, collaboration with beekeepers and BeeFriendly experts

This approach embodied by Solar6 wines is accompanied by a program of promotion and awareness among consumers on the shelves and in the territory. It is now rewarded by the 2021 Jury of the LSA DE LA CROISSANCE BIO Trophies.
